Day 44 - 11/19/23 - At Sea to Santos, Brazil - Day 2

Today turned out to be a very full Sunday sea day.  It started out with 3 back to back events in the World Stage. First was a coffee chat with Oi Brasil team members.  They are a diverse group with some of them living in Brazil and some in London but those having strong Brazilian roots or connections.  One of the group was on our Volendam 2019 Amazon River cruise. Next up was a future port talk by a shore excursions team member.  And finally Richard Watkins from Oi Brasil presented a terrific talk on the history of Rio.

Following a quick lunch, I led a Cruise Critic meet & greet in the Crow's Nest.  There were only about 25 people there as a last minute lecture on the importance of Samba was added to the schedule.  At 2pm Jeremy did a port talk on two more upcoming ports after Rio (Armacao dos Buzios & Salvador Da Bahia).

We once again enjoyed a main dining room dinner, this time with friends Darlene and Dean along with their neighbors, Pete and Sue.  We had a delightful chat about many things and the sunset through the aft windows was pretty.

The evening entertainment was a Grand Fair where there were various games that we could earn prize tickets and there was a raffle drawing for some cool prizes including dinner with Florin in the Pinnacle Grill and dinner with Jeremy in the Canaletto.  The games were fun and there was a lot of enthusiasm displayed. We didn't win any prizes but it was very fun. They served cotton candy and caramel apples and popcorn and the Ocean Bar band played throughout the evening (albeit a bit too loud for my taste).  The event was over just after 10pm and sleep came very easy for me.

Tickets arranged for the raffle drawing

Our first Brazilian port stop is Santos (gateway to Sao Paulo) tomorrow.  We don''t have specific plans other than to take the shuttle to the mall and walk from there.  We'll see what happens.
