Day 43 - 11/18/23 - At Sea to Santos, Brazil - Day 1

Instead of docking at Punta del Este, Uruguay, the strong pampero (local cold winds) closed that port so we sailed past it in very calm waters through most of the day.  Later in the day, the wind kicked up and while there were whitecaps, the ship was quite stable.  With this last minute change to a sea day, our daily program was slightly changed.

The new cultural ambassador group Oi Brasil joined us in Buenos Aires and Richard Watson from that group gave an excellent presentation on the geographic regions of Brazil.  Jeremy, our Cruise & Travel Director, gave an impromptu presentation on Santos, our new port stop, in the morning and another on Rio in the afternoon.  Angela did a couple of dance classes in the afternoon, but those had no appeal to me.

We enjoyed dinner with Bill & Solange in the Main Dining Room 5th floor before enjoying Camila Andrade, an excellent Brazilian vocalist in her 7:30pm show.
